Frequently Asked Questions About Gas Processing Automation

We provide an integrated suite of membranes and solvent-based processes designed to support rigorous contaminant rejection. Our UOP Separex™ Membrane systems are designed to handle CO2, H2S and H2O rejection to support pipeline quality specifications.

For deeper contaminant removal, the UOP Amine Guard™ FS process and MOLSIV™ PSA dehydration systems are designed to assist facilities in addressing safety and environmental regulatory requirements. These technologies are often delivered as modular units to help reduce site footprint and support lower capital intensity while improving overall plant reliability and service factors.

We utilize LEAP™ project execution and the Integrated Main Automation Contractor (IMAC) approach to decouple software from hardware. By using universal I/O and cloud engineering, we can reduce engineering costs and project schedules.

Additionally, our standardized, fabricated skids for gas treating and NGLs help enable plug-and-play installation that can de-risk complex project execution in harsh environments.

Experion® Profit Controller (APC) can offer immediate gains by stabilizing process and equipment operation. In gas processing, APC can increase LNG production and can deliver higher LPG yields along with higher capacity.2 To help maintain these gains, Honeywell DynAMo® offers advanced alarm management that can help reduce incidents and unplanned downtime. When combined with our high-fidelity training simulators, these tools help keep operation at peak performance to improve NGL rejection or recovery based on changing demand.

Protecting operational technology (OT) from cyber threats is increasingly important for gas processing facilities. Honeywell's OT cybersecurity solutions help identify risks and support the protection of control systems, data and personnel. Cyber Insights provides on-premises monitoring to help detect threats, anomalous behavior and vulnerabilities in near real-time. When integrated with Experion PKS systems, Cyber Insights can also provide detailed insight into control system health and security posture. Managed Security Services are designed to support continuous monitoring and alerting, while Secure Remote Access incorporates cybersecurity features to help enable secure connections for remote support and operations.

We help bridge the expertise gap with intelligent wearables and IoT solutions. Our intrinsically safe helmets provide field workers with near real-time access to remote experts and step-by-step procedures which can reduce operational costs . This is supported by the Honeywell Forge Cybersecurity Suite, which can secure remote access and network monitoring for OT environments. Through the Honeywell Connected Plant, we offer enhanced visibility into remote detector status and hazardous gas encounters.
